Ray came up with a six step process for crafting a sales message. Here it is.

As a salesman who works on 100% commission this information struck a chord.
I'm going to use myself as the recipient of this process.
My problem was that I was not getting a clean house, and my laundry was piling up because of the hours it took to run my business. It frustrated my wife, daughter and me to the point I decided to do something about it. I hired my own company to clean and do laundry. It has given us back time to be a family, and it made our stress level go down too.
We ultimately sell time. I bought my own product/service to solve the problem of dust bunnies and dirty laundry that was piling up.
I never ask a prospect for a sale if I don't use it myself. Zig Ziglar talked a lot about that, and his message is still circulating among sales professionals who genuinely believe in the product/service they are selling.
Integrity is the backbone for productive work in any industry, but I think especially sales requires it.
